Will Arsenal's Henry see out his contract?

Had it not been for Thierry's latest injury worries, the title of this post was going to be "Is it time for Henry to go?". However, since he's out for the next 5 months, his value has to be significantly reduced as a result.

But why am I even thinking like this?

At the end of last season, I like many other fans couldn't perceive an Arsenal without Henry. I would have been devastated had he not renewed his contract with the club.

But in recent games (despite his injuries), he's lost some of his "va va va voom". His hunger for the ball seems to have diminished, at times he appears lazy, once he was feared by our opponents and that too has gone.

Yes he still inspires the team, the fans still come alive when he's on the pitch, expectations are high, but we need him to deliver more.

With the young guns performing well of late and with time they will mature into a cup winning side, I have to question whether the team still needs Henry.

In a recent article in one of the tabloids Henry re-stated his commitment to the club, when like me others were questioning whether he will stay at the Emirates. Henry was quoted as saying "When I signed my new contract I never wanted to kick a ball for another team and nothing has changed".

But despite Henry's commitment I'm still left wondering whether he will or should see out the life of his contract and whether Wenger will decide to sell him in exchange for some fresh legs.

Having said all the above, if Henry returns in the new season, rested, hungry and the Henry of old, he will have answered all his critics, including me.

Let's hope so!
