Wenger’s men help France to a 3 -1 victory

Now I had intended to spend the evening watching the England match in the sports centre bar, whilst my son ran himself ragged at his first training session of the season.

But, to my surprise the game being shown was France vs Italy. Any way as it turned out, it was probably the more entertaining game.

After all the controversy surrounding William Gallas, it was great to see him on the football pitch and contributing to the opening goal by Sidney Govou in the second minute of the game.

Henry had a great match and was on form, securing France’s second goal. France’s only real lapse came in the first half when Alberto Gilardino scored from a free kick which wasn’t well defended.

France’s passing game was superb and a delight to watch. It reminded me of Arsenal's.

With France due to meet Scotland in early October, I think the scots will have their work cut out, to stand a chance against this team !
