Jamaica – Svens last chance
Posted by Martin in Jamaica, World Cup | 2 June 2006
This is Svens last chance to try out the players, the formation and build the team. So who'll play and what will the score be ?
Well the team has yet to be announced, but my guess is that Walcott will get another chance. He didnt have much of an opportunity against Hungary, hes had zero opportunities at Highbury this year as we know and so needs some more exposure before playing on the big stage.
Im not a big fan of Crouch he looks awkward, yet he does seem to score goals and has proved that. Owen is a great goal scorer, but didnt have a great game with Hungary, so perhaps another start for him.
Joe Cole has shown that he can hold the ball up, but for me he needs to release the ball earlier, Im not sure how many times he ran into trouble in the first half with Hungary and didnt pass the ball. For me, he did play better in the second half with some great moves, particularly working with Crouch for that goal.
Beckham is playing well, inch perfect precision for those long passes. It would be great to see one of those goals of his from a set piece.
But who ever plays, please lets not go down in attempt to get a penalty or free kick, lets just play our game.
Oh, prediction, 3 0 to England !
Thanks.
