Ivory Coast (Cote d’Ivoire) – A team worth watching

Posted by Martin in Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, Ivory Coast, World Cup | 11 June 2006

If the only game you’ve seen so far was Argentina vs Ivory Coast, then you’ve watched the pick of the games.

Personally, I was backing Cote d’Ivoire, with Drogba, Kolo Toure and Eboue on their side, they were bound to have their moments. With some of the Argentineans auditioning for RADA I was never going to be shouting for them.

In the first half the Ivorians could and should have taken the initiative, but Argentina took the few opportunities they had and capitalised on them. It was great to see the Ivory Coast pull one back in the second half, and had the game gone on for a few more minutes, I think we may have seen a draw.

One of the commentators I listened to said Wenger was at the match, so was he there to watch his boys or was he scouting for new Ivorians ?

Thanks.

Martin

I think Ivory Coast will give Holland a very good game. That match could easily go either way.
