England 1 Paraguay 0 – The score tells the story !

Our first game, which had both highs and lows.

We we’re definitely “up for it” in the first half, the goal from Beckham looking like it could be one of many, we had the pocession, passed the ball well and looked like a team with the edge and we played better than we have done for many a game.

Second half that all changed. Taking Owen off, was not a good move, a couple of times Crouch headed the ball on for that non-existent striker, and with no one up with Crouch we never really looked like we were going to get the second goal.

However, excellent performances from Joe Cole, Stephen Gerard, David Beckham, to name a few. Ashley Cole, didn’t have one of his greatest of matches, making a few mistakes (or was it his studs?)

Any way, what ever the performance, as Paul Robinson said “A wins a win”, and that’s all that matters. Roll on Thursday and Trinidad &Tobago and our chance to go on to the “knock out” stage of the competition.

Thanks.
