Enduring Image, Isn't It?

In thinking about this year's 'Fussballerfest', my mind has wandered back to previous World Cups and the moments that stick out. For your general 'I remember that' amusement I've listed my top 3 from each tournament below. Now, like Bond girls and Beatles albums I'm sure you have your own favourites but, hey, that's what the 'Comments' section is for....
2002 - Japorea
1. Beckham's penalty against the Argies
2. Buck tooth Ronnie's lob over Seaman in the quarter final
3. Jared Borghetti's clever header for Mexico against Italy
1998 - France
1. Michael Owen's coming of age v Argentina
2. Sol Campbell's 'goal' late in the same game
3. Croatia out-playing the Germans in the quarter's
1990 - Italy
1. David Platt's last minute winner v Belgium
2. Claudio Caniggia's boot flying off in the opening game v Cameroon after being hacked not once but twice
3. Roger Milla's corner flag dance, spawning a trend that continues to this day (witness Tim Cahill's 'boxer' variation recently for Everton)
1986 - Mexico
1. The shadow on the pitch at the Azteca Stadium that looked like a giant spider
2. Ray Wilkins' red card against Morocco
3. The France/Brazil penalty shoot out in the quarter finals (what is it with quarter finals that they produce such drama?)
1982 - Spain
1. 'Arconada......ARMSTRONG!' - Northern Ireland's victory over the hosts
2. Falcao's vieny arms after scoring against Italy in the classic second round game
3. Harald Schumacher's vertical assault on Patrick Battiston
I could go on about 1982 (my personal favourite).....but I won't.
You will notice that I've left out USA 1994. I remember watching the tournament as avidly as I could without English representation (Jack's Eire doesn't count) but 12 years later I can't think of a single moment from the whole tournament......
