Australia - the best 10 minutes of the WC so far

For 84 minutes it looked like Australia would be waiting until another day for their first ever World Cup goal. They'd had some good chances in the first half but to be honest neither team looked like doing anything special.

Then Cahill, Kennedy and Aloisi came on the the Socceroos stepped up a gear. That 10 minutes at the end of the game was the most exciting period of play I've seen so far in the tournament, and while the final score flattered Australia, Japan equally hadn't deserved their 1-0 lead given their limited attacking play.

As Australia's Craig Moore said, he doesn't see Brazil losing sleep over playing Australia, but the result and more importantly the way they achieved it towards the end of the game must give the Socceroos a big lift.

And after seeing the lacklustre display from Brazil yesterday, Australia must feel that there's a chance of a good result.
