Roberts wants new Deal

And he better get one aswell!!

It's always great when players declare their intent on staying at your club, especially when they are as influential as what Jason Robert's is for us. But the fact that his contract is now coming into its final years is worrying, and does bring up bad memories of the Nathan Ellington saga.

Too many times have players ran down their contract with Wigan and moved onto 'pastures new'. Nathan Ellington roberts_celebrate_goal_200x300.jpg
left a sour taste in everyones mouth by moving to West Brom days before our first ever Premiership game against Chelsea. He too also claimed he was happy at the club, and to see him leave in the way he did was hard to take.

Hopefully this one is different, Jason Roberts (pictured) genuinley loves playing for Wigan and has a great relationship with the fans that idolise him. He still has 18 months (ish) to run and hopefully is contract will be sorted out in the summer. And hopefully, Roberts will take heed of past players who have left Wigan thinking they were heading for better things. Just ask The Duke, Jason De Vos and Geoff Horsefield.

Hopefully he signs soon, as we don't want another Nathan Ellington on our hands.
