Referee Phil Dowd should be Axed!

And i don't just mean from the Premiership!
Staffordshire referee Phil Dowd not only wound up the Latics fans last night, but he also succeeded in winding up our usually cool headed manager Paul Jewell. You know when a referee played poorly when he comes out and publicly criticizes them
But in Dowds case, Jewell summed him up in one word, 'incompetent'. Yesterday he continued to fuel the rumours that he has a personal vendetta against Wigan Athletic by not only dissallowing a perfectly
good goal from our skipper Arjan De Zeeuw (pictured), but by also allowing Blackburn's equaliser to be given despite an obvious foul on John Filan.
Not only this, but Dowds love of booking our players for nothing, and then letting dangerous tackles by Blackburn players to go unpunished caused Paul Jewell to make a subsitition just to stop his player from getting sent off by the man in black, when the player subbed, Paul Scharner had done nothing wrong at all.
Last night was not the only time Phil Dowd has gone out of his way to become a hate figure for many Wiganers. Earlier on in the season he harshly sent off Lee McChulloch against Newcastle and in our famous second leg against Arsenal at Highbury (carling cup semi-final) Phil Dowd turned down two blatant penalty decisions and a third admittedly less blatant third claim.
But back to last night, don't get me wrong, i am honest enouigh to say that Phil Dowd also made poor decisions that went against Blackburn Rovers. Dowd disallowed what seemed like a perfectly good Mortem Gamst Pederson goal and also waved away dtrong claims for a penalty.
The fact is that if Phil Dowd can pass himself off as a Premiership referee, what does that say about refereeing standards in England on the whole?

He is spoiling Football with his treachery!!!
I looked up "Dowd" and "referee" on Google and this was the first site I found about him - and what do you know, it's all about how incompetent he is! Just the reason I wanted to find out more about this nincompoop, who was the only person in the whole stadium to spot the penalty that cost Bury the match against Darlington on Tuesday.
Sack him. Right on.
