Through to the last 8

Kieron Dyer marked his first start for 6 or so months with the winning goal against Southampton on Saturday, with the game ending 1-0.

A professional performance, despite a couple of heart in the mouth moments, left Alan Shearers last chance of a trophy still in tact.

The goal itself was created by the lively N'Zogbia, who is really on good form at the moment, and finished coolly in the bottom corner by Dyer. With Owen out it would be more than useful if Dyer could get a run of games under his belt and score some goals to ease the pressure off of record breaker Alan (who apparently has a 50/50 chance of playing against Charlton following the calf injury he picked up yesterday.)

Hopefully we can avoid teams like Liverpool (who knocked out Man Utd yesterday) and Chelsea, who presumably will see off their lower league opposition today. The draw is at lunchtime on Monday.
