Well, Wor' Glen confirmed it; Sam Allardyce couldn't hack managing Newcastle as he'd turn us into a boring football club. That's my view anyway and most of the other fellow supporters I've discussed this matter with. Somehow, Big Sam is still linked with the Toon vacancy but the Trotters performance against Newcastle on Saturday must surely have swayed Freddy Shepherd's decision to cut all the strings attatched to Sam Allardyce and the St James' Park Hotseat. Although, who knows as anything could happen after the appointment of Graeme Souness some miserable time ago!

With the resurgance of the Toon Army why not give Roeder until the end of the season, working under the disguise of Tommy Craig's badges and if he gets us into Europe - give the guy a chance. That's what one side of me says however, the other wants a big name - a proven name e.g Hitzfeld. Although, as we have seen before, the big names don't always do it e.g Dalglish, Gullit.

Who knows with the soap opera that is Newcastle United? Let's just see what Freddy has up his sleeve - hopefully not another Scottish disciplinarian!
