Newcastle's Allardyce prioritizes injury problems

Forget whether he may or may not be the right appointment - it was great to hear that Allardyce fully intended to do something about our incredible injury record over recent years.
Regardless of poor management and other factors, what has really killed Newcastle these past few seasons has been the unbelievable run of injuries we have suffered from. We have seen all too often big games which are key players are not available for. Various other players have suffered from this as well as they have had to be used as utility players, resulting in a huge lack of continuity and consistency.
I for one am delighted that Sam intends to make sorting out our injury record his priority, and I hope that he can do something about it. Certainly he never suffered from what we have seen while he was at Bolton, and he has a reputation for having forward thinking training methods and of course a lot of knowledge on the "physical" side of the game, so unless it is simply a curse I am backing the new manager to turn things around in that department; an absolutely vital step needed to take us forward.

I have heard that Bolton are the most professional outfit in football. Prefessional in terms of the approach to the game - that is how Sam has managed to keep so many old folkies fit and healthy.
