Newcastle didn't deserve any more than they got

A blunt performance today means the lads are travelling home with no Premier League points, but we have no real cause for complaint.

Other than a late flurry in the first half and a goal right at the death we did not threaten the Fulham goal. Saying that, I thought we also were looking comfortable until Butt (I think it was) gave the ball away for Helguson to score a lob. From my point of view it looked as though Harper came rushing out for no reason then changed his mind, I stand to be corrected though as we were congregated at the other end of the pitch. Certainly Butt was in the guilty party for a sloppy pass to give the ball away on the edge of our own box.

Going forward we had no real cutting edge. Either Martins was a tad careless with staying onside or the midfield were not distributing quick enough because he was flagged a fair few times. Milner, and more so Duff had dud games where they rarely if ever beat their man and the final ball didn't find the target. I felt Dyer was playing too high up the pitch to get on the ball much and do what he does best and run at the defence.

On a more positive note, the new lad Gooch put in a steady although not spectacular performance. The 6'4" man got on with his job quietly and professionally and there is no reason not to be optimistic about his future with us.

Despite not disgracing ourselves, the performance left a fair bit to be desired and should give Roeder some food for thought over the week. Hopefully he will continue to be aided by the return of injured players that have so far held back our chances of succeeding in the league this season, and we can keep those who are currently fit on the pitch.

I think the reason to lose is from one guy "Roder".I think he has less ability to be a football manager.I don't know how he think to continue put a poor ability guy such as bramble to replace solano. And the most important put only Martin on forward. How he think of these? He should sell bramble and carr out and use luque in his squad. If newcastle still has roder to be their manager, I brave to tell that newcastle will not reach any trophy and stuck between half of table.

You are absolutely right when you say Newcastle don't deserve anymore. They have money and if their squad is not fighting for the title, it's because of their poor decisions to buy and sell. And a little bit of bad luck, like with Michael Owen.
