Scouse Powerhouse set to do flyby at Emirates

With Ronaldo threatening to break the 20 goal barrier this season all eyes are off Rooney. The Scouse powerhouse will be happy that the press aren’t questioning his character like earlier in the season after another set of substandard outings; somebody seems to have stolen his shooting boots.

He has only been able to take a back seat so far because Ronaldo has produced a string of majestic displays and due to the introduction of what looks like being a truly magical signing of Henrik Larsson.

Rooney has been carried somewhat, by a hard working team ethic, during what for him have been some flustered performances. Out of the limelight and off the score sheet for several weeks, this will concern the man himself more than anyone else. He thrives on the attention and furore delivered via stunning performances for club and country, but Rooney is definitely in a lull and out of the Press. Fergie won’t mind because United are still winning and playing good football but Rooney knows that he needs to stand and deliver. Hitting the cross bar with a rasping effort on Saturday against Villa won’t have helped his esteem.

However, the challenge of a huge fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium, where they have never lost a premiership match, will entice the very best out of this countries greatest prospect since the mercurial Gascoigne set our hearts ablaze almost 20 years ago.

Ronaldo will be the perfect foil for Rooney and will enable him to pull off something special this weekend. The fear that Ronaldo has come to demand from all that is put in front of him will allow Rooney more time and space to do as he did for Everton in his debut season aged 16 and produce a master class.

With the Fabregas-Henry partnership back in business and creating explosive counter attacking football as proven against Blackburn last Saturday, it will take an explosive and dynamic display by Rooney to stretch a very fluid Arsenal side. Possession will be the key in this clash of the Titans, but for me, let the Rooney show begin!

I suspect that's why Eboue was held back. Ronaldo has proven again and again that against a pacey fullback his one-trick pony rubbish doesn't work.
Where Arsenal may be exposed is in the middle without Silva to sweep up.
Should be a fascinating battle.

It seems that for a one trick pony Ronaldo has managed to pierce a considerable amount of defences this season so far. Second only to Drogba who's a centre forward in the premiership scoring charts with 13 and along with the amount that he has set up you're chatting nonsense Barracuda! I just think you'll find Arsenal will try and tag team Ronaldo with 2 or 3 which will open up the pitch for Rooney and Larsson to wreak havoc. Sorry but it's the way it's gonna be. You might tame Ronaldo but at the expense of a goal or two from elsewhere!!!! Game on......

Oh, and if you'll worried that you'll miss Silva you should be because he's the one that would have been patrolling the areas that Rooney will exploit!

I believe Rooney will score only with an ambitious mind-set. rooney is a better player when he shoots unpredictably outside the box. he is more of a team player these days and that is his weakness

I think you're right in as much as he's been thinking to much when given an opportunity to shoot or score. He's an instinct player and has incredible awareness. At the moment he's letting his brain slow the reactions to his instincts. I just say give that boy the ball against Arsenal because he's going to produce.
