One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals. Michael Korda
So, a few things to observe looking forward to the Blackburn game.
With Big Dunc out for an excessive but utterly predictable 7 games (at least he can play in the Derby), our reliance on Beattie is even greater. His injury doubt along with that of Leon is pretty worrying, especially as we need to ignore Wednesday and keep the great run in the league going.
Blackburn's away form seems to have dipped recently so we need to cash in. If we're all honest it's games like this one and last week's against City that will dictate if we finish in a decent spot. We need a fast start like last week, which really dictated how the game turned out.
That would represent the exact opposite of the reverse fixture at Ewood, where Everton started poorly. We went on to give an OK but not entirely convincing display, scoring 2 (TWO) goals in the process. An appropriately scruffy goal from the unkempt James Mcfadden and a suitably handsome finish from the fetching Mikel Arteta. But tomorrow it doesn't matter how we get em, we just need 3 more points.
Ian Turner continues, which seems OK after a decent debut on Wednesday, he certainly looks more physically commanding than Wright, and probably better at sorting stuff in his garage. Expect Alan 'it's like he's never been away' Stubbs to slot back in, almost like he's never been away.
Looking beyond the blues, what a weird quote from the FA about a British Manager being required to understand the 'passion' required. Don't you think there's a lot of crap talked about passion? Can the players seriously hear a ranting manager doing his nut on the touchline anyway? Sounds like another sop to keep the tabloids sweet to me.
The next entry will report on the Blackburn game, and, how about that, not one mention of Manager of the Month!
