Chelsea: The Blues of the Champions!

Posted by Blue Champion in Chelsea, Premiership | 21 September 2006

How many blogs or websites have you come across that supports Chelsea? I've not seen many. For the Chelsea suporters, there is the Official Chelsea website, the Chelseablog and the CSR forums. If you talk about the portals where you can participate and contribute, then its just the chelseablog and CSR forums. CSR forums requires registration and if you talk any anti-Chelsea stuff, you would be banned. That leaves only Chelseablog as the one where all fans can particpate and share their views.

Back-to-back champions and favourites for the premiership hattrick and champions league and if you look at the fans representation on the internet - zilch. I was wondering why despite being the blue chip of the premiership, Chelsea is obscure on the internet. If you frequently visit certain fan blogs of the leading clubs, you can arrive at the answer. The media and the fans of the other clubs have made sure that the Chelsea fans no longer feel proud about their club. But how? If Chelsea wins, they say "you bought the title with Russian money", if we lose in champions league, they say "there are some things money can't buy". Anything discussion on Chelsea would end up in Russian Rubles.

By doing this, no credit is given to Chelsea's performance or strategy, and invariably we are subject to 'money taunts'. If you say what's the big thing about being abused in this manner, read on. Samuel Eto'o walked out once and threatened to do so many times, whenever he was subject to racial abuse by the fans. He could have carried on but the reason he threatened to walk out was that he was being abused for his race and hence was denied the appreciation and credit. It gets so frustrating when you're ridiculed for the transfer budget of your team when are in a forum of football fans. Why dont people give credit for Chelsea when they deserve. After all, there's nothing illegal about this as there is no cap as of now, on the transfer budget. You can see in the BBC 606 forums, whenever there is a topic related to Chelsea, you can see how many of the posts are spammed by BBC for abusive language. Some of them are just not able to stand Chelsea's success that ended the domination of their team in the Premiership. Ideally, such kind of widespread hatred towards a certain club, should only fire up the fans of the club to stand up and face it. But unfortunately, we have gone into a shell and even leave our stadiums empty.

When I started my own Chelsea fan blog, I started visiting the blogs of other teams just to share my views on their matches as well. Mostly, there are two kinds of response I would get. Either "go away, you chelski c***" or a similar set of abuses by them, but in my blog. Many a times, it is just not quite possible to have a meaningful discussion with fans of the leading clubs. That's when I made sure that I'm not going to be psyched out by anyone's taunts on Chelsea's money. Yes, we have it and we'll spend it. If you dont have it, that's your problem, let's talk about the game.

You may say Chelsea prints currencies, sells drugs or kills people. Keep saying. I love Chelsea.

Having been a True Blue since 1962, I couldn't care less wht the others say, they are just jealous. I have been envious of Man U, Arsenal, LIverpool etc at times, but not for anything else than success. They have had money for a long time, and lets be honest, as tragic as it was the obly reason Man Utd has had so much exsposure, has been because of that terrible day back in 1958 odd and the Munich disaster, since that day people all over the world have had the sympathy vote for Man U, and it has grown from there.
We just don't care, someone has come along with lots of money, but someone who prives that he loves this club.

There are loads of Chelsea resources online. www.cfcnet.co.uk, www.bawa.co.uk, chelsea.vitalfootball.com, and several others that I can think of off the top of my head.
