Should We Drop Kevin Davies?

Hands up all those who think that, since I started this blog on March 1, that Bolton have gone rubbish. All of you? Oh. I do worry that Im having an adverse effect. Lets look at the evidence: LWLWLLLL. Urgh. If youve seen gorefest Hostel at the cinema, this is even worse.
But have we been as bad as the stats suggest? None of the matches have seen the Whites thumped; each loss has been by the odd goal. Theres been on occasion much to write home about against Liverpool we competed, and were unlucky to fall behind to Fowlers slightly scabby goal (irony of ironies; were now after him. To use the now hackneyed phrase, at least he cant score against us cue own goal on debut). And in all honesty we werent outclassed by Middlesbrough or Birmingham, or Man U for most of that game.
But the luck has subsided into a mire of tiredness and lack of ideas. And up-front, were as potent as a eunuch in a whorehouse. The natural goalscorer question has still not been answered; and Im afraid the Davies connection is starting to look jaded. Kevin D has taken on the appearance of being indispensable to the team, and now the opposition is kidding on to this, managing very successfully to mark him out of games and thus cut off our feeder channel. Davies himself looks knackered, in any case.
Controversial suggestion time, then: drop Davies. Play Nolan in his position, hes been up front before, and have Campo in his midfield role. It could work. Worth a try in any case. Whats to lose against Chelsea?
At least we might yet make Europe, albeit the hard way. Having laughed at the Intertoto Cup over the years (why do I always think of kitchens?) it looks like we might be in it, having filed our entry. So no acknowledgement of impending failure there, then whos pining for the fjords already?
Finally for this cyber-ramble, the possible distraction of Sam and the England job has gained new currency, though beware of the source.
