What could be worse than watching Arsenal lose?

Watching them lose in a pub full of Man United supporters!
Which was not a great experience and being in London I failed to understand the logic of the pub landlord giving precedence to the United game. The smaller screens and space being allocated to the Gunners match!
I've also learnt a valuable lesson – never again will I watch Arsenal play in a Champions League game with my friend from Scotland. The last match we watched together, was the final last year!
So yet another disappointing game. Not dissimilar to our last few performances. We dominated the game, had the majority of shots on goal, I think our opponents had only one and yet again we failed to capitalise.
Our desire to walk the ball into the net, was never going to happen. The continuous calls to SHOOOOT! echoed around the pub. Yes our football is pretty and great to watch, but sometimes you just want someone to test the keeper and that didn't happen often enough.
It was great to see a goal from a corner, which is a relatively rare event, but with around 15/16 in the game we should have made more of them.
So it looks like we now have to lick our wounds, pick ourselves up and aim to finish in the top 3 and rebuild the team for next seasons campaign.

All the words in the world will make no difference. Wenger will carry on with more of the same next year, and we will win nothing, but we will play a few good games and people will say how great our football is etc etc.,
All the young talent in the world will not win us trophies, it's the team who has mostly experienced top class players who end up with the winners medals!
And I don't know about anyone else, but hey are you getting to the stage as I am now that I sit and watch our game and get fed up with the endless and mostly negative pass,pass,pass game without an end result??? It's great when it works but more and more often now it doesn't and passing is boring without scoring!
This current squad is way short of the right stuff needed to grind out a championship win, the likes of Senderos,Hoyte,Hleb,Baptista,Aliadiere,Almunia,Song,Adebeyor, and now Ljungberg has joined - all very average or below average players. Lehmann has his good points but has his weaknesses but as Czech for Chelsea proved a great keeper wins you games Lehmann doesn;t do that for us. And sadly Henry I believe looks like a players who regrets not leaving last year, and is anyone else a bit sus about his injuries?
I've heard many names thrown around about who we could buy to bring us back to the top, again all very well but we know Wenger won't buy big, he never does. Ideally we need Buffon,Babel,Ribery,Woodgate and a big striker/goalpoacher (dont' know who just yet - would love to get Drogba as he would be great for us!)
And to those of you who keep on with the Arsene knows - does he??? well he hasn't shown that he does for 3 years now!!
And for those of you who say stop the criticism or we who care enough to make comments against Wenger and the side- think about this - how long are you prepared to go on saying this? How long are you prepared to sit back and hope that AW does the right thing? Like I said it's 3 years now since we won the Championship and things are getting worse not better - and just to make the point clearer, I am sure Liverpool fans back in 1993 when they had not won the league for 3 years after dominating it for 10 years were saying much the same - but here we are and they have not won it for 17 years, do we want to end up the same????? No well thats why something needs doing now, and that means the club spending money on players either with or without AW in charge. And by the way I have been a supporter who has not missed a season in 40+ years and I have been through some crap years and trust me I don't want to see them return!!
-just as wenger passionately pleading his case to the FA, we as supporters surely can say what and how we feel even if it may upset some people
-tactical not astute; at times stupid
-looked lost (on TV) in the final third; almost like pin-ball machines in motion
-indeed some talents are there but equally many average (okay, above average) ones as well such as hoyte, senderos, hleb, bap, ade, ali based on performance level this season
-there is no right or wrong in games (whatever it is) but winning is also a key objective, if not the only goal; wenger got to find a way to balance, or make tradeoff in tactical situation eg. why on earth we put henry in when the team appeared to be on a roll v PSV?? i'd have preferred ali, diabym or walcott if we want fresh legs at that stage; the freekick from henry could have come from bap- no more no less
-more (not less) aerial strenght at the back will surely help, in addition to a new goalie; Lehman is still good but time for succession to move in
-many many have suggested we needed a striker, and may i qualify, a 'younger' striker. henry was one but past it; more suitable to the hole behind at best; injury or not, he appeared to have lost the pace or willingness to sprint already; trying to beat people 1-on-1 (and more annoying... he stopped the flow) simply not going to fly anymore
-i'd say these are not big ask; probably 3/4 relatively good ones (not necessarily stars) as we'd create many chances anyway, just need people to bloody hell convert them
Matt, you are on a downer mate.
A team can't win everything, every year and I agree something is missing.... where is the next Ian Wright?
But we are on the verge of something great here. I've been a supporter for 30+ years and I'm loving the football now more than ever. Personally , I don't want to go back to the George Graham 1-0 to the Arsenal days. Sucessfull as the were, we were trully hated and I'd leave a typical saturday game at Highbury, mildly satisfied with a clean sheet and an Adams header from a set piece.
Nowadays at the Grove (when it goes well), I just sit back and really admire at whats going on in front of me.
We do need to invest in the team but only a couple of players. Only our activity in the summer will tell....
