Arsenal's Lehmann, the highlight of the Everton match

Posted by Martin in Arsenal, Everton, Theo Walcott | 5 May 2008

Well the match itself must have been the most un-inspiring I've seen this season. So much so, that the guys behind me were talking about our new Mayor and not the footie!

The team looked lethargic and ready for a break. The only real energy and sparks came from Song at the back, who was solid throughout and O2 player of the month Theo Walcott, though his performance seemed to tail off. It was good to see us eke out a win, in what could have so easily been a nil nil draw.

So, the real highlight was seeing Jens play, in what is likely to have been his final match at the Emirates and being able to show my appreciation for all the enjoyment he's given us.

Yes, he's had his moments over the years, but he's provided loads to talk about and I think the Premiership will be poorer without him. There seems to be less characters in the game than there used to be.

Anyway, I came across this short video tribute to Jens Lehmann on YouTube. He's certainly pulled off some terrific saves for us during his Arsenal career. Take a look!

Thanks Jens!
