Arsenal's Bendtner had fans in stitches!

Whilst the FC Twente fans were a credit to their club, partying even after their team had been comfortably beaten, the players themselves did little to warrant such support.
As for Arsenal's fans, where was everyone?
Despite the official attendance being well over 59 000, in reality there were so many empty seats, the actual number must have been far less!
In the first half it appeared as if FC Twente's main aim was to come away from the match with a clean sheet, and failing that, see if they could increase Wenger's injury woes. The way the game was going, it looked like just a matter of time before the ref showed a red card. In the second half that tactic was dropped.
For me Samir Nasri was Arsenal's player of the match, I just hope he recovers from his stomach bug in time for the next game. Nicklas Bendtner was by far the worst.
Nicklas just couldn't get anything right. Every time he had the ball, he either gave it away or stumbled. At one point the ref played the advantage, the advantage being Nicklas in the centre ready to receive a cross. I’m sorry, but that was no advantage. A female Gooner sitting not too far from me was in stitches every time Bendtner had the ball.
The only high point in Bendtner's performance being the goal that Nicklas managed to secure in the final minutes of the game. I only hope that Wenger doesn't use Bendtner against Newcastle at the week end!
So, a good win for Arsenal, but still someway to go before we see the football the Gunners are capable of!

Bendtner scored one and set up two others. Not too bad in my book...
To be fair I thought he had a good game creating 2 goals and putting away a close range finish, it was better than anything Van Persie could manage. He's only 21 and has scored some important goals and see him more likley to stay than Adebayor even if he may not be the most popular in dressing room.

I hope wenger does use Bendtner now he'll have his confidence back.

What about the back heel from Bendtner to Walcott? Van Persie was by far the worst. Bendtner wasn't at his best, but definetely not the worst yesterday!
Bendtner is still 20. So he is sure to improve. He did assist Gallas' goal as well as score one. Apart from that yesterday wasn't his best game but he really is good and he is a very strong player too.

You really do know how to talk shite don't you. Bentner won almost every header from long balls last night, got two assists and grabbed himself a goal. He's playing far better than Mr I'm worth 80k a week and atm RVP can't hit a cows arse with a banjo so start watching th game and not female fans who are "in stitches" and then theres a slight possibility that you might stop talking shit.
Bendtner just didnt get the run of the ball you TW^t!his positional play last night was good and his hold up play is better than that of the togolese striker and wins everything in the air!
The atmosphere in the ground was edgy last night and I don't think that's helped by the current trend for slagging of our players. Too many people sitting around giving half baked opinions on 2 bob blogs. You either support the team or you want to do thnigs to unsettle us. If you don't like Bendtner fair play but slagging him off won't help. Can we not be constructive to our own players?
Bendtner was lacking confidence he smiled with embarrassment all evening so when he did score. I for 1 was relieved!

Wow you clearly no nothing about football! Are you sure you should be writing articles? Whatever you do don't give up your day job. Firstly Walcott was our best player by far! How the hell can you claim Nasri was the best? He was very quiet apart from his goal. Walcott faded in and out but for large portions he was electric.
As for Bendtner your a tit. The guy is 21 and showed some moments of pure class (his control and shot that lead to Gallas' goal was a prime example). Granted the rest of the game he had a bit of a shocker but he is still learning. He feeds of confidence so maybe you shouldnt get on his back. Let me guess you started supporting Arsenal a few years ago when we were winning trophies and now your wishing you'd chosen ManUre or Chavscum because all you are is a Fairweather fan, a gloryhunter if you will.

Anyone who saw that game would have seen that he was AWFUL.

What a load of beep Bentner was sooooooo bad and I was at the game. The ball he lost it 9 out of 10 times. He didn't set up Theos Goal he mised controled it and was lucky as far as the tap in for gallas he should have been passing it not trying for a shot. Finally his goal he needed two goes he is a load of RUBISH
Bendtner looked class in pre-season. The guy has the ability, i believe its a confidence issue, much like theo. Will he ever get a run in the team long enough to give him that confidence. Bendtner, RvP and Adebayor have been shocking in our season so far. Eduardo come back soon, we need a killer like you
Comments totally off the mark. Bendtner battled and pressured well the entire game. He did struggle a bit on the ball but he will regain his form. The entire team is still a bit rusty and if they'd been playing against a more worthy opponent they would've been made to pay for their mistakes in the defensive third of the field.
The old phrase 'you had to be there' applies here. I was there as usual last night and watched it again on my return home and the difference between watching Bendtner 'live' and on TV was palpable. He was - trust me outrageously awful last night. He is normally not the greatest but my god last night he excelled in his awfulness - on TV he didnt look quite so bad and the TV made the best of the cumulative 30 seconds of quality he had for the entire match. His face said it all during the game - Believe me Gooners he had a 'mare and he'd be the first to admit it Im sure.

I'm sure you feel like a bit of a prick now, and rightly so. Nick worked hard and got involved but it just seemed like everything he did, the final 10% (maybe confidence?) was lacking.
And bollocks to that "you had to be there" comment. You get a better view from tv with plenty of replays, and without being distracted by "female gooners in stitches", making you think twice about a player.
I agree with above posts about van Persie, the sharpness is just totally lacking. A sharp RvP would have got at least a hat-trick that match, but his finishing was nowhere near what he is capable of. The massive dip in the quality of his free kicks this season is a case in hand of the kind of killer instinct his game has lacked so far this season.
What's with this constant knocking of our players? I just do not get it. I thought the role of supporters was do just that: Support. If you want your team to lose, then carry on booing our players.

bendtner's performance yesterday was nowhere near as bad as some of TH14's first 10-15 performances for us. now whilst he'll never be that good, cretinous f*ckwits like yourself rubbishing his performance is, unfortunately, symptomatic of so many of you pr*cks that perport yourself to be "fans".
Thought Bendtner had a good game. Get off his back indeed, thought he did more than Adebayor tbh. He is much more involved in the setup of goals and is more in the right place at the right time compared to Adebayor.
Couple of poor touches and decision making due to lack of games but these are exactly the games he needs to gain confidence, match fitness, etc.

wtf??!! wanker....what a load of bollocks. Nik has a more natural nose for goal than bloodybayor....he had an off day in that game (and i only say that coz his 1st touch wasn't exactly spot on) n yet still came up with the goods in the form of a goal....chew on that, u spuds fan!
You must have been drunk when you watched this game. Bendtner did a fab job, he scored one and set up one or two. he distributes the ball much better and more effective than Adebayor or Persie being only 20, that says a lot. He is strong, fast and shows real commitment. And when he get a chance he scores (unlike Adebayor and Persie who needs four or five). Sorry, but if you cant sum up a match better then this, dont.
3rd game in and you knock this guy, I was at the game watching it live and he didn't play great but total over reaction by the blog, no contrast to RVP and Ade who also had awful games, people that write these blogs really should look at the big picture. please get behind the team.

Nic Bendtner, top dog, if only all our players had his desire, just look at his commitment to the cause for the nasri goal. You wouldnt have seen Ade do that.
I hope he plays alot more than last season, he will be awesome once he sharpens up his shooting.

You had to be there to see it????? I was there and I think you must have been at a different game or maybe watching Adebayor when he came on!! I would much rather Bendtner play at the weekend then Ade who has done sweet FA so far! Lets be honest, he's shit! He may of scored a couple of important goals, but he's got a shit first touch, and does nothing with the ball.
How anyone can compare him to Ade or RVP is beyond me! at least they've proven themselves.
he didnt have the best game to be fair his touch was off and nothing wouldnt run for him, but to be fair that happens to all players. RvP is havin a similar slump atm, one goal is all it will take to lift either of their spirits
as for ade, he will still be the player the player that scores 1 in 5, but he grafts, he just needs that first goal

Although I agree that Bendtner looked out of touch to start with, I thought he got better as the game progressed.
He then set up the goal for Gallas and scored himself and you could see his confidence growing by the minute. Keep with him, he is going to be good.
I thought the worst player was Denilson who was largely invisible until he popped up to give the ball to the opposition or pass it straight into touch. Just think - is he any kind of replacement for Flamini?
Be warned Arsenal Football Club. There will be a lot more empty seats if from all the money we fans are pouring into their bank balance a fair proportion is not seen to be improving the playing squad.
well i agree that he didnt have a great game but credit for setting up 2 and scoring 1 put on a plate for him by denilson. but bendtner is only 20 younger than cesc and has time to develop i think he can be a star. Walcott was man of the match in my opinion i look forward to seeing him become a regular star for the gunners :)Nasri is progressing well and will be big at arsenal 2 goals in 3 games now :D excited to see him play a lot this season
Too early to make final decision on Bendtner but it is absurd to say he had a good game. The goal was point blank and one of the 'set ups' was a selfish attempt on goal instead of pulling back and Gallas getting the rebound instead. No-one celebrated with NB when he scored or 'set up'.
He was being ridiculed all over the stands. He was shocking. Worse.
In player ratings if we were bin as generous as school teaches for giving a point for putting your name on the paper, we could have given NB a 'one out of ten' for turning up. ALthough I wd actually have rather he didnt.
If Bendtner was the worst then what was van Persie? I agree he had a couple of stumbles, but you could see it was more of a confidence/form thing than anything else.
If 1 goal and 2 assists is a bad game then I can't wait to see the good ones!
