Arsenal vs FC Porto – What are our chances?

Posted by Martin in Arsenal, Champions League | 25 September 2006

I’m a bit surprised, but it looks like the gunners have never met FC Porto before. According to the stats, FC Porto have been to the England only 9 times and of those they have failed to win their last 8. They’ve not won any of the last 4 Champions League matches. So things are looking good for Arsenal.

However, in their home league they appear to be doing somewhat better than us. They have played 4, won 4 and lost 0. If only we had achieved that start to the season.

So all in all, it looks like Arsenal should sale through the match, although according to the Arseblog, the “Portugeezers are a difficult side to break down”.

But with Henry likely to start, Gallas and Adebayor in the line-up and maybe a Champions League outing for young Walcott, it can only mean a win for Arsenal.

Prediction: Arsenal 2 FC Porto 0

please do not write off the former european champions, they will be tougher than hamburg. We should win but i think it will be far from comfortable.
