Arsenal sell out to the Russians!

O.k, so it's a bit of a sensationalist headline, but it looks like David Dein has finally done it.

According the BBC News site, he's sold his 14.5% stake in the Gunners to Red & White Holdings, which is co-owned by Russian, Alisher Usmanov and Farhad Moshiri an Iranian fund manager, for £75m.

David Dein will become the Chairman of Red & White Holdings, so he'll be back at the Emirates supporting Arsene, which should seal our Manager's future.

The article goes on to say that the company wants to increase its stake in the club over time and it quotes David as saying "Arsenal needs people or consortia prepared to invest unimaginable sums aimed at winning the games biggest prizes!"

However, in a further article, Edelmen, Arsenal's managing director appears to disagree with Dein’s view, claiming that Arsenal don’t need any foreign investment and will counter any take-over bid.

So, it looks like there could be some rocky times in the boardroom over the coming weeks and months.

So what do you think, is this good or bad news for the club?

i think this could be a good thing..we can only get so far with the young squad we have got.we need investors that can get 2-3 goood players from other cl clubs.good players.. potensualy new captins. someone that realy fils the gap after viera and henry. they have not been able to do that and if they dont fabregas will also be looking at the door next year.. thats when things can take a turn downhill.... rusian or whatever.. he is a arsenal fan ,, got his own box at emirates. it could just be what we have been waiting for

I think it is a worry about Dein's motives. It would seem he has swapped ship from the yanks to the russians and is impatient to get his hands on the club. I would be concerned about his long term motives, I know he has been good for the club in the past but his behaviour seems a little irrational.
