Arsenal say "Au Revoir" to Henry
Posted by Martin in Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, Thierry Henry | 23 June 2007
When I first heard the news that Henry was on his way to Barcelona, I have to say I wasn't surprised.
Only Friday was I chatting to a Spurs fan and a Millwall fan about Henry and that it was time for him to move on. We also discussed the shrewdness of Wenger as a manager, particularly with the sales of Anelka and Vieira. Should he sell Henry he'd be bound to get a good deal. So £16m, is pretty good!
That's not to say we wont miss Henry, we will. He has the same affect on the fans as Beckham has for England. He lifts the crowd and the players.
Henry's had a fantastic time at Arsenal. As Phil McNulty of BBC Sport points out, his career at the gunners has seen him play on 364 games, scoring 226 goals.
But had it not been for David Dein, would Henry have gone?
Henry always maintained that he wanted to see his career out at the Gunners. But lack of trophies, the loss of David Dein, Wenger's future un-certain, it would appear to have had its toll on Henry.
If you take a look at the photo on the Arsenal site, his face tells the story!
So whilst we should pay tribute to such a great player for the Gunners, we now need to look to his replacement or replacements. We are in urgent need of a couple of strikers.
Im sure Wenger has something in mind!

BREAKING NEWS.
Good news to Arsenal fans Carlos Tevez and Dimitar are already in Arsenal transfer fishing net,''Mark my words''
I'm not surprised he's going and although he's an immense player it's the right deal for Arsenal.
My concern is over who's going to replace him - Adebayour is good but not the same class, Aliadiere was ok but has gone, Walcott isn't ready and van P? Possibly but hasn't shown consistent scoring like Henry.
Good luck Thierry and thanks for everything.
I feel sorry becouse what is done in Arsenal?pleas pleas think for club, funs.I thnk and i hop all problems are solved in short time.
