Arsenal: Plaudits for 'lightening quick' Theo Walcott

With the main T.V channels having a blackout of the England match, I opted for my previously tried and tested method of watching the game on my laptop via one of the free streaming providers.

Normally this works fine, however, it looks like everyone else had exactly the same idea! My viewing was restricted to seeing about 50% of the game due to the continual breaks in streaming. I guess I can't complain given it was free viewing and I didn't have to pay Setanta!

Anyway what a great game and a somewhat un-expected score and performance. Beating Croatia away too and after Bilic seemed to suggest that England were no real match and that we were no longer feared.

The match had many good points, Rooney scoring after his goal drought, passing football, pressing Croatia to play in their half etc etc. But the star of the match being young Theo Walcott!

He’s been getting many plaudits and rightly so.

Capello is quoted as saying:

He is a young and dangerous player for defenders. I am very happy for him. He is one of the most important young players in England, he is so fast and dangerous."

Terry said: "credit to Theo for stepping up to the challenge. He’s been awesome all week, he has come in, got involved and that performance showed what he’s all about tonight."

But here's my favourite from Bilic describing Theo as 'lightening quick' and a 'great finisher'.

He also said

"He scored two goals from not so easy positions, he just hit the corner,"

"And it is hard to mark him. That is why he is an England international and why he is at Arsenal."

Yep, he belongs at Arsenal :)
