Arsenal : Injury woes!

Posted by Martin in Alex Ferguson, Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, FA Cup, Man United | 15 February 2008

Our injury list seems to be growing, only 14 players are traveling to Manchester!

Here's the latest injury news from the Arsenal site :

Johan Djourou (groin)
Robin van Persie (thigh)
Abou Diaby (calf)
Manuel Almunia (sick)
Denilson (hamstring)
Tomas Rosicky (hamstring)
Theo Walcott (thigh)
Clichy (hamstring)
Alex Song (muscular)
Bacary Sagna (personal reasons)
Emmanuel Adebayor (muscular)
Philippe Senderos (knee/thigh)

Most worrying is the possibility of Adebayor being out, though he is one of the 14 traveling and we now have Toure and Eboue back, so it's not all bad news!

The match is being billed as the one to watch, particularly given the current performance of both Adebayor and Ronaldo. But with the Champions League games in the coming week, I wonder whether Arsene will risk Adebayor, but keep him for Wednesday's match.

Whilst it would be great to see two teams at their best, playing great football, I suspect it wont live up to all the hype, which happens frequently when the Gunners and United meet.

If you look at our FA Cup track record against United, it's pretty even, which you'd expect.

I'd love to see Arsenal come away with a win, and heap more pressure on Ferguson's team, but a draw and a replay at the Emirates would suffice - particularly with our injury woes!
