Arsenal: At least we're consistent at home!

Is it just me, or is there a pattern emerging in our home games in the premiership this season. We seem to either have a goal fest, or we struggle to put the ball in the back of the net, despite the chances we’re given.

The game against Newcastle was no different to many of our games this season. The gunners enjoyed most of the procession, controlled the game and still came away with another draw.

So lets look at our performance at home this season :

Arsenal 1 Aston Villa 1
Arsenal 1 Middlesbrough 1
Arsenal 3 Sheffield United 0
Arsenal 3 Watford 0
Arsenal 1 Everton 1
Arsenal 3 Liverpool 0
Arsenal 1 Newcastle 1

If you look at the games that ended in a draw, the first blood has always been inflicted by the opposition :

Villa – first goal to Mellberg after 52 minutes.
Middlesbrough – first goal to Morrison after 21 minutes
Everton – first goal to Tim Cahill after 10 minutes
Newcastle – first goal to Dyer after 30 minutes

And the games we’ve won :

Sheffield – first goal to Gallas after 63 minutes
Watford – Steward scored an own goal after 33 minutes
Liverpool – first goal to Flamini after 31 minutes

The good news is that we’ve yet to be beaten at our new ground this season, that’s including our champions league matches.

So our next premiership match at home is against our rivals Spurs. So the question is will it be a 1 all draw or a 3 nil win. Well I’d like to think the latter, the odds are in our favour, or could the game go against all the odds and we win 2 nil? Only time will tell!
