Accolades for Arsenal – On the edge of greatness!

Posted by Martin in Arsenal, Champions League | 5 March 2008

Well what did you expect following that performance against Milan?

Nigel Winterburn is quoted as saying :

"I believe Arsenal are on the edge of greatness and it will come for them"

Even Kaka said that Arsenal deserved to win and praised our midfielders and Adebayor.

As for the Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti:

"Arsenal are a strong team and played with great courage and have shown they have the qualities to reach the final of the Champions League."

As for me? There were too many positives and not enough superlatives to describe their performance, so here are just a few high points:

- First English team to beat Milan at the San Siro
- To return to form on such a huge occasion and after a troubled 2 weeks
- Adebayor's first goal in the Champions League
- Defence solid throughout - well almost (Senderos header!)
- Mid-field dominant
- Walcott's speed - I thought he was chasing a lost ball
- 100% commitment from ever player
- To win in the champions league having not one our last 4 matches
- Cesc Fabregas - what can I say?

We now just need to repeat this performance against Wigan on Sunday and we'll silence the doubters.

Come on you Gunners!
