Adopt a Teacher and help the Environment

As I've mentioned previously, my better half is a teacher and in her spare time (if that's possible as a teacher) she runs a great teaching website with links to thousands of great teaching resources - shameless plug, sorry, but it is re-use!
Anyway, what I've come to appreciate, is that having a teacher in the household can really help the environment.
This evening we had sticky toffee pudding, courtesy of M&S. Like all quick meals, the deserts came in small plastic containers. The pudding was great and lasted about a minute, however the plastic containers would have lasted years, had they ended up in a landfill site. However, ours have gone straight into the dishwasher for a quick clean and will then find themselves, Monday morning in Year 2's painting cupboard, ready to be used as glue containers.
Sticky toffee pudding containers aren't the only things that end up in school. Our yoghurt pots, cream pots, my old shirts, kitchen rolls, meat containers, milk containers etc etc etc.
So, if like us, you can't yet recycle plastic as your local council hasn't yet fixed this for you, why not find a local school or teacher, adopt them and find out what they use and need and get re-cycling.
