Recycling wrapping paper

Posted by DavidM in Reduce, re-use, recycle | 27 August 2008

My wife and I have birthdays two days apart which has it's benefits and drawbacks. We get to have one big party and it's pretty easy to remember to buy her a present in time.

This year, we even made extra savings on wrapping paper.

First, my wife received a pile of presents wrapped in nice gold paper. No tags (a waste of money and paper as far as I'm concerned), I just scribbled birthday greetings on the paper itself. She carefully unwrapped her presents and set the paper to one side.

Two days later, it was my turn to receive my gifts. A small pile of presents appeared - wrapped in the same gold paper. There were even occasional scribbled out birthday messages with new congratulations added.

It didn't detract from the thought put into the gifts but reduced the cost and environmental impact of our birthdays.
