CO2 warnings on car adverts

The European Commission is apparently looking at forcing car manufacturers to highlight their cars' CO2 emissions on all adverts.

Most car adverts already have mpg and CO2 emissions data in the small print, but the EU is considering a traffic light system to highlight more polluting (red stars) and less polluting (green stars) vehicles.

I think it also makes sense to relate these emissions levels to the government's new road tax levels so car buyers can not only see how bad the car is for the environment, but also for their pocket.
