Getting involved with Winchester Action on Climate Change
Posted by DavidM in WinAcc | 17 March 2008
I've been working to reduce my environmental impact for about 18 months now, as well as writing about my experience and commenting on the actions of others.
Although I've spoken to various people socially about being greener, shared some correspondence wth other green bloggers and been a member of Friends of the Earth and the Centre for Alternatve Technology, I haven't been active with any organisations.
As my personal changes have plateauted I want to get more involved in wider work so I was please to see an article on Winchester Action on Climate Change in our local paper.
They are a voluntary group who aim to reduce Winchester's carbon footprint by a third in the next 8 years. They run various action groups so I'm planning to go along to their open meeting on 5th April at the Friends' Meeting House and hopefully join the Communications and Advice action group.
It will be a great way to learn more about what's happening both in my area and a chance to do make a bigger impact than on my own carbon footprint.
