A new greenhouse

I've decided to get a greenhouse to give more space for growing vegetables and so I can grow a wider selection. Although tomatoes grow happily outside they'll do better in the greenhouse. I can also try capsicums and chillis.

I wanted to get a second hand greenhouse but I've been looking for ages on Freecycle with no luck. There's been only the occasional one in the local classified ads (and those have been pricey) and searching on ebay the nearest private seller was in Swindon (80 miles away).

In the end I got a new one. There are two benefits to this. First, I won't have to dismantle it at someone else's house then try and remember how to put it up. Second, new ones tend to have either toughened glass or polycarbonate windows which, in a garden which doubles as an under-10's football pitch, is advantageous.

There seem to be broadly two price levels with greenhouses. Some are around the £1,000 mark while others are around £300. I don't know what the difference is, but I went for a fairly simple 8 ft x 6 ft greenhouse from ShedStore for £299.

It should be delivered in a week so I've got a permeable membrane, paving slabs for it to rest on and gravel ready for it.
