Nokia's pledge to cut energy use

Nokia is the latest global corporation to make a pledge to reduce their impact on the environment.
Nokia's approach is two-fold; to reduce the non-renewable energy usage in their own organisation and to reduce the energy consumers waste using their products.
They will increase their use of green electricity from 25% to 50% in their buildings by 2010 and cut overall energy usage by 6% by 2012.
For customers, they will cut the wasted electricity from chargers that are plugged into the mains but aren't charging a phone by 50% by 2011. Given that 900 million people use Nokia devices around the world, that could be significant.
Any improvements by such a large company are welcome, but this feels like too little. Between 2003 and 2006, Nokia cut overall energy usage by 3.5%! That's barely turning the lights off in the evening. A further 6% cut is, frankly, pathetic. With the technology at their disposal Nokia should be looking at 25% energy reductions.
Compare Nokia to BT who have reduced their carbon footprint by 60% since 1996 and is the biggest purchaser of green electricity in the world!
