Energy saving adaptor for your P.C

In my last "Carbon fast" article, I mentioned a few things that I'd been doing as part of my carbon fast, (not going too well this week!). One of those was the purchase of a P.C adaptor to cut power to peripherals.
The item I purchased was a "Energy Saving Intelli Plug" from the Ethical Shop.
You simply plug your PC into the master socket on the adaptor, and then your peripherals, monitor, speakers, printer into the 2 secondary outlets. When you place your P.C into hibernate or switch it off, it shuts down power to your external devices.
According to the product blurb, your electrical savings from cutting power to your speakers and printer, could be 84KWh annually.
Quite neat!
