Tefal Quick Cup kettle uses 65% less energy

I first saw this demonstrated on The Gadget Show and thought it was a great idea.

Instead of boiling a kettle full of water, the Tefal Quick Cup only heats the water you need and does it in an amazing 3 seconds!

Because it passes only a cupful of water over the element, it uses only one third of the energy of a normal kettle. Have a look at Pocket Lint for a diagram of how it works. They also estimate that compared to the £59.99 price tag you'll save about £30 a year in energy bills.

Hippy shopper also has a video demonstration of the Tefal Quick Cup alongside the Powergen Eco-Kettle. Unfortunately I still have no sound so have no idea which they thought was best.
