World's smallest solar-powered car

In the wake of the recent Panasonic World Solar Challenge, where Nuna 4 won with an average speed of 90.87 kmh, I came across an article about the smallest solar-powered car.
Well, less "car" than matchbox toy. Being just over 3cm x 2cm it doesn't have much room to carry your bag-for-life shopping back from Sainsbury's (or local farm shop if you're greener than average).
But is it a pointless bit of fun or a worthwhile exercise in demonstrating the increased flexibility of solar power?
