Low cost rechargeable batteries

The first batch of rechargeable batteries I bought have now found their way into various toys and appliances and I've just been online to get some more.

A simple search in Google throws up lots of online stores. Batteries Plus were good for 'D' size batteries and Direct Foto was looking best for AAA and AA sizes.

However, I then came across Rapid Batteries. A very simple site, no expense spared there and payment via Paypal (which makes me more comfortable given I've not heard of the site and it looks a bit simple).

They had 4-packs of AAA 1000mAh for £3.00 (compared to £5.99 at Direct Foto), 4x AA 2700mAh for £4.25 (vs. £6.99) and D 2-packs for £5.50 (£2.95 each at Batteries PLus).

So not only does it pay to shop around but it doesn't have to cost a fortune to move to rechargeables. Given they'll recharge up to 1,000 times I'm saving money as well as waste and energy.
