Both cars ready for biodiesel now
Posted by DavidM in Driving | 30 April 2007
Having run my car on biodiesel for the last 2 months, my wife has now traded in her 1.8 litre petrol Audi A3 - averaging 38mpg - for a 2.0 litre diesel Audi A3 which can do 51mpg.
As you can tell we have a thing about Audis. That's our last 4 cars all having 4 rings on the front.
Driving is one of the biggest carbon emissions areas in our family. I use between 35 and 60 litres of fuel a week and my wife adds about another 20 litres. Over a year that's between 2,750 and 4,160 litres. Changing that to biodiesel will drastically reduce our impact.

Great switch!
I definitely support environment-friendly energies but I also love cars. I can't picture myself driving an electric car buzzing like a golf car.
What do you think will be the most promising alternative source of energy?
I'm really interested in hydrogen cars, like the BMW 750h, because they still feel like real cars. But questions still need to be answered as how the hydrogen will be produced.
Let's make it greener and greener :)
