A second compost bin

When I ordered the compost bin last year, it took an age to arrive. And when it did a second turned up within a week. We let the supplier know and they said they'd collect it but that was six months ago.
Our first compost bin has worked really well and is quite full, so we've decided to make use of the second bin. If they want it back now they can take it with muck in it!
The stuff at the bottom of the first bin has already been used in the veg patch and now we'll leave the rest to cook down into a good mulch. I watered and turned it, laid some plastic wrapping over the top to keep the heat and moisture in and will leave it for a few weeks.
I dug out a circle of turf next to it and turned over the mud to encourage worms and other beasties to come to the surface. The base of the second bin fitted nicely and once the bin was up we filled it with the guinea-pig bedding (shredded old newspaper, pig-pooh, etc.) and grass cuttings. I gave it a light watering as it was very dry and turned it.
So now we have one bin that should be ready in mid-May and another where we can put our organic waste for summer, and it should be ready for autumn to turn into the ground.
