England's kids to see Inconvenient Truth

UK Environment minister David Milliband has announced that Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth is to be shown in all secondary schools in England.

This is a positive move - despite my reservations that many 11 to 16 year olds would rather be smoking behind the bike sheds - that will reinforce the need for change in the next generation.

I've already had comments from my own children, younger than secondary school age, that show environmental awareness is being instilled in them in school.

The only question is, can we wait for the next generation to grow up and take the action we have failed to take or will it be too late by then?
