Green tip # 14: Pass on your old clothes

green_tips.jpgIf you out-grow clothes or they are no longer fashionable enough for you, don’t throw them out.

Instead, put them in a charity bag for reuse or sale, take them to a car boot sale or even sell them on ebay.

We sold a couple of my wife's old dresses on ebay recently for a decent price. Not only did it give us a bit of cash but it extended the life of the dresses by a few years and reduced our waste.

We regularly have charity bag collections in our area and use them as a reminder to have a clear out. Alternatively you can take clothes to your local charirty shop who'll sell them on. If you want to be really good, why not collect clothes from everyone in your street and take them into the charity shop?
