Green tip #12: Give life to your old mobile phone

Posted by DavidM in Green tips | 15 January 2007

green_tips.jpgI kept the same Nokia 6310 for many years but eventually had to change when I could no longer read the screen or get the keypad to recognise half the keys I pressed.

However, fashion and ever-changing technology encourages most people to change much more frequently.

When you do get a new phone, don’t just bin your old one. If your phone is in good condition, sell it on ebay or similar sites. There are plenty of people looking to pick one up and we sold my wife’s phone for about £35.

If your phone isn't in such great condition, donate it to charity who can resell them to raise funds. Action Aid Recycling will send you a freepost bag and accept all makes of phone and PDA.
