Green Tip #6 : Wash your clothes at lower temperatures

green_tips.jpgThe vast majority of clothes no longer need washing above 40 degrees.

Towels and bedding may need an occasional 60 degree wash but all other items could be washed at 40 or even 30 degrees quite satisfactorily.

The reduction in temperature will result in less power being used for each wash saving energy and money.

Procter & Gamble even has a campaign encouraging people to wash clothes at 30 degrees to reduce consumption.

We've tried it and noticed no difference in the quality of the clothes wash.
