Finally unplugged the video

one of the first things I did on my quest to reduce my family's impact on the environment was to audit our appliances and turn off those we don't use.
One that frustrated me at the time was the video recorder. We rarely if ever use it now we have a hard disk recorder, but the recorder ran through the video to the TV and turning it off standby lost us our picture.
Finally, this week I had to do it to make room for the lights for the plug for the Christmas lights.
It was easier than I expected and now we have a powerless video recorder not soaking any electricity.
I'm happy now that none of the appliances are unneccessarily on standby.
