Green tip #1: Put a plastic bottle in your toilet

Most toilets don’t need a full flush to remove the waste. By placing something in the cistern you reduce the amount of water used each time you flush.

You can use anything bulky that won’t damage the cistern. However, if you have any non-recyclable plastic bottles use them to not only save water but also reduce your landfill waste.

Simply fill the bottle with water and insert into your cistern. Experiment with different size bottles so you use as little water as possible but have enough to remove all the waste.

If you have any green tips you'd like to share, send them in and I'll post them up.
