A great 're-use' Saturday morning

When reading this, bear in mind our normal Saturday morning doesn't involve anything green unless it's the tinge of my skin after a heavy night out.

But this Saturday we were unusually good.

My wife went off to a car boot sale as the final part of clearing the garage - selling off what we would consider junk but other people find surprisingly useful. This reuses all sorts of things that would have gone to the tip and added to the landfill.

Meanwhile, I took the children on the bus to the library in town. We joined up and got four books each. So we had used public transport instead of placing another car on the roads and we were reusing books rather than buying then discarding them.

The kids love going on the bus and my son couldn't believe the library:

"How much did these books cost Dad?"
"Nothing"
"Nothing? Oh my gosh. [yes he really says that] So how much was it to join up?"
"Nothing again."
"Oh my gosh. The people at the library are soooo nice letting us have these books for nothing."

That's him converted then.
