More than one blogger?

Posted by DavidM in Recruitment | 29 December 2005

We've had questions about having more than one blogger for each team and we've had a number of people writing to say they can't do all the writing for a blog but could contribute occasional articles. Having 2 or 3 people contributing to a blog gives different viewpoints and means postings are likely to be more regular. So here's some clarification on our approach.

We will only have one blog for each team or topic and we are looking for lead people for each of these. However, that doesn't mean there can't be more than one person writing on that blog.

We only want one lead for each blog because having several people makes it complicated when it comes to paying income out. Do we base it on a straight split between the bloggers for a page? If so, it gets unfair if one person writes more than another. Or do we base it on the number of postings made by each? Then one person can post lots of small and not very relevant articles and take the majority share.

Our answer is that we only enter into an agreement with the 'lead blogger' for each blog and we will pay all the relevant income to them. However, they are welcome to come to an agreement with other bloggers for them to contribute and work out the money between them. We will create up to 2 'secondary blogger' accounts for each blog when asked by the lead blogger.

So what should you do?
If you fancy being a lead blogger, writing 2-3 times a week on all aspects of your team or football topic then let us know. We'll send you the Terms and Conditions and you'll enter into an agreement with Real Life News.

If you don't want to be a lead blogger but would like to write occasional articles and share in the income, again let us know via email. When we recruit a lead blogger for the team or topic you are interested in, we'll pass on your details and the two of you can agree something between you.

If you'd like to write occasionally and aren't bothered about sharing in the income then we'd love to hear from you. Drop me an email and the lead blogger will post your articles giving you credit as a guest contributor, or if your articles are more frequent, we'll give you your own secondary blogger account.
