Performance marketing from Lastminute.com

Hidden camera comedies annoy me - they were funny in the days of Candid Camera but now it's just lazy, cheap TV.

But the recent growth of what I would call performance marketing can be very clever. It's not about playing tricks on an unsuspecting public, but rather treating them to an impromptu performance in an unexpected place.

A recent one is a performance by 14 actors in Stansted airport promoting theatre tickets from latminute.com.

As someone who gets easily embarrassed I would have been one of the bystanders torn between trying not to notice and being desperate to see.
