A novel way of presenting the news

A colleague sent me a link to Newsmap. It takes the Google News aggregator and presents the headlines in an interesting way.
I like the idea but it has some drawbacks. First, there's no explanation on the site of whether the different sizes refer to the popularity of the headline. Second, the smaller headlines are difficult to read.
Still, it's a novel approach and an example that with the web you don't have to stick to traditional ways of presenting information.
