Newcastle and Ottmar Hitzfeld

Although Martin O'Neill remains the favourite for the Newcastle United manager's job, JamesB reminds fans on the Extra Tyne blog that there is another highly rated manager who Freddy should be considering - Ottmar Hitzfeld.
Many people don't know much about Hitzfeld, but he has had enormous success in the Bundesliga, and Pete gives more details of his pedigree and current situation in the Bundesliga blog.
The most astonishing thing about Hitzfeld is that, despite winning the European Cup and German league, and having been linked to many top European jobs, he has been out of management for the last two years.

David,I think you are missing the whole point of the appointment of a Manager.
Its a really deep issue and has some bad effects on the Club.
It matters not one iota what Manager we get. One thing is for sure, a Premier Manager will not be interested. The reason is staring us in the face. Fatso, one, William Frederick Shepherd, son of scrap metal dealer who has done nothing but harm since he inherited his money from his old man as did his brother Stuart.
Fatso does not know the first thing aboug football. He is a down and out liar. E.g He claims to have been a Shell Engineer in Australia, yet if he was he failed. Next he reckons he was born in Byker. He was not,he was born Gilsland,Cumberland, and so it goes on and on.
He is bleeding the Magpies white. Before he sacked Souey, he was 10m Pounds off the Leeds fiasco when they came near to bankruptcy. He is nearer now having had to settle with Souey.
We have no players funds available to replace Shearer! Next, we will be lucky to keep Owen. So we are heading for an almighty fall!
Last time Fatso got about 8 refusals from Premier Mangers, one a true born Geordie,Steve Bruce! and so it went on. Martin O'Neill would not touch us with a barge pole.
A good presententation of aricles has been made on my forum. A case why it is is very needful and urgent to get rid of Fatso Shepherd before we even think about a new Manager. Any new manager will get the same as the rest.18 months tenure. Read,Keving Keegan, My Autobiography, or Bobbys book,Farwell but not Goodbye! They are telling us just how dangerous Fatso is to the Magapies.
Forget the Manager for a minute and see how we can make John Hall(Cameron Holdings) get rid of Shepherd and send him back with Doug Hall to the Spanish bordellos he slagged the Geordies from. When Sven Eriksson got caught by the News of the World, he got the sack, but when Fatso got caught with his pants down in the brothel,(Again by the News of the World)Sir John Hall made him Chairman/Managing Director of the Magpies. It just does not figure.
He pays out small fortunes to his brother Stuart, and Doug Hall, neither are ever near St.James'Park. One lives in the Caribean the other on the Channel Islands, and again we have no Executive Board at all. Fatso makes all the the decisions...Viva La Duce!
Some supporters need to show a bit of Geordie metal and stand up to Fatso. We can best do this by not attending mathces as we have in the past! Hall will have to act, the financial loss would be too great.
